About me
MATILDA LEIJON
Exploring the world, one frame at a time.

My name is Matilda Leijon — a new mom with a camera in one hand and a little hand in the other. I feel most at home outdoors, where the ocean air is fresh and adventure is never far away. When I’m not traveling, you’ll often find me at home with a knitting project in my lap or a loaf of sourdough baking in the oven. I love creating, whether that means photographs, memories, or something that smells like fresh-baked bread.
My passion for photography
I travel to collect stories. My camera is always with me, not to capture perfect pictures, but to preserve moments that will never happen quite the same way again. A fish suddenly leaping out of the water, an unexpected proposal at sunset, or an encounter with people who have lived in harmony with nature for generations. It’s those small, genuine moments that make every journey unforgettable — and they’re the reason I’m always dreaming about the next adventure.

Chasing peaks, chasing adventures.
I love climbing mountains and discovering new peaks around the world. There’s something special about standing at the top with tired, slightly shaky legs, looking out over the landscape below. And somehow, a piece of chocolate and a handful of nuts have never tasted quite as good as they do up there. But the best part is sharing the experience with others — bringing friends along for the climb and seeing the joy on their faces when they finally reach the summit.

Drone photography
I’ve always been drawn to seeing things from a different perspective, and my drone gives me the chance to experience the world in ways that wouldn’t otherwise be possible. As a licensed drone photographer, I love bringing it along on my travels and photo shoots to capture landscapes and moments from above. Sometimes, it’s only when you change your perspective that you truly see just how beautiful a place can be.

Experience & previous work
I’ve had the honor of shooting three cover photos, being featured in a profile article, and publishing my own article in Marlin Magazine, the world’s leading bluewater fishing publication.
